The Players for Cranberry Orange Loaf

Ingredients for Cranberry Orange Loaf recipe.

Ingredients:

  • Butter – You’ll need softened butter to make this orange cranberry bread.  I always use salted butter because that’s what I purchase, but feel free to use unsalted butter if that’s what you have.
  • Sugar – Plain granulated white sugar is all you’ll need to help balance out the tart cranberries.
  • Eggs – Two room temperature eggs are needed.
  • Orange Zest – The zest from one orange boosts the orange flavor and adds fresh, aromatic citrus notes.
  • Flour – Regular all-purpose flour works perfectly here.
  • Baking Powder – Gives this cranberry bread recipe its lift so it bakes up nice and fluffy.
  • Salt – Just a pinch of salt melds all of the flavors together.
  • Orange Juice – Adds moisture and bright orange flavor throughout the loaf. You’ll need about 3 oranges for both the loaf and the glaze.
  • Milk – My family drinks whole milk, so that’s what I use, but use whatever is in your fridge!
  • Cranberries – The star ingredient: fresh cranberries!
  • Powdered Sugar – For the simple orange glaze, you’ll need confectioners’ sugar.
  • Vanilla Extract – Using 100% pure vanilla extract brings warmth and sweetness to this orange-glazed cranberry bread.

Tools:

  • Loaf Pan – standard 9-inch loaf pan is perfect for this recipe. It helps the loaf bake evenly and gives it that classic, tall bakery-style shape. I use the same loaf pan to make my Old Fashioned Apple Fritter Loaf Bread.
  • Parchment Paper – Makes it easy to lift the loaf out of the pan without sticking. A cool trick I learned recently is to take a piece of parchment, roll it up, run it under tap water, and squeeze out the excess.  This allows the parchment to fit nicely inside the pan without fighting with it.
