- Buttermilk – To make a quick buttermilk, add 2 teaspoons of white vinegar to a 1/2 cup measuring cup and fill the rest of the way with milk. Allow the buttermilk to sour for 5 minutes before using.
- Flour – Plain, all-purpose flour is used.
- Baking Powder – Baking powder is used to help the batter rise and create a fluffy texture.
- Cinnamon – Ground cinnamon is used in both the batter and the sugar topping.

Squeeze out any excess water and carefully open the parchment paper. This makes the parchment paper easier to mold and fit into the loaf pan.
How to Make Old Fashioned Country Apple Fritter Bread Recipe
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and place a rack in the middle of the oven. Line a 9 x5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper or spray non-stick spray and set it aside.
In a medium-sized bowl using a wooden spoon, combine 1/2 cup butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and buttermilk. You can also use an electric mixer if you prefer.
To the butter mixture, add the dry ingredients of flour, baking powder, and cinnamon and stir well.
To the bowl, fold in the peeled and chopped apples. Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan and spread the batter evenly.

Ingredients
Apple Fritter Loaf
- 1/2 cup butter, softened (1 stick)
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup buttermilk

Cinnamon Sugar Topping
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 tsp cinnamon
Apple Fritter Glaze
- 2 tbsp hot milk
- 1 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
Make the Apple Fritter Loaf
