Apple Fritter Loaf
- 1/2 cup butter, softened (1 stick)
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 cup apples, peeled and diced
Cinnamon Sugar Topping
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 tsp cinnamon
Apple Fritter Glaze
- 2 tbsp hot milk
- 1 cup powdered sugar
Make the Apple Fritter Loaf
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, place the rack in the middle of the oven, and line a 9-inch loaf pan with parchment paper. Set aside.
In a large bowl using a wooden spoon, combine all of the apple fritter loaf ingredients together well.
Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan and spread the batter evenly into the pan.
In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon together. Sprinkle the mixture over the top of the batter. Using a butter knife or chopstick, swirl the brown sugar mixture into the batter.
Bake in the oven for 1 hour, testing the center with a toothpick to ensure it comes out clean. If necessary, cover the loaf with foil around the 45-minute mark to prevent over-browning.
Allow the apple fritter loaf to cool in the pan for 20 minutes before glazing.
To store: Cover it with plastic wrap or place it into an airtight container and keep it on the counter for up to 2 days. For longer storage, you can place your wrapped bread in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
To reheat: Place a slice of apple fritter bread on a microwave-safe plate and reheat for 20 seconds on 50% power.
