The Players for Pumpkin Apple Streusel Muffins
Ingredients:

- Butter – You’ll need melted butter for both the streusel topping and the muffin batter.
- Flour – Plain all-purpose flour is all you’ll need for these tasty muffins.
- Brown Sugar – Brown sugar sweetens both the batter and streusel topping while adding a hint of molasses flavor.
- Pumpkin Puree – The star of this perfect fall muffin recipe! Pumpkin purée keeps the muffins incredibly moist and gives them that signature autumn flavor. Be sure to use 100% pure pumpkin, not pumpkin pie filling.
- Eggs – Two large eggs that are room temperature are needed.
- Vanilla Extract – A splash of pure vanilla extract brings warmth and sweetness to our muffins.
- Apples – You’ll need about 2 cups of chopped apples. Any apples you have on hand will work! I’ve used both Granny Smith and Honeycrisp apples.
- Pumpkin Pie Spice – This blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves gives these muffins their autumnal flavor. It’s used in both the batter and the streusel,
- Baking Powder & Baking Soda – These leavening agents help these muffins rise beautifully and stay soft on the inside.
- Salt – Just a pinch of salt balances the sweetness.

To the same bowl (no need for a separate bowl!), add the dry ingredients of flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and pumpkin pie spice. Stir gently until almost combined.

Add the diced apples to the pumpkin mixture and gently fold into the batter. Do not overmix.

Spoon batter evenly into the muffin cups and sprinkle the chilled streusel topping over the top of each muffin.
