Inside the One Bedroom Villa at Disneyland Hotel
Staying in the new Villas at Disneyland Hotel felt like stepping into a Disney storybook! Our family of five spent one night in a one-bedroom villa, and it was truly unforgettable.
With plenty of space, a full kitchen, a view of the fireworks, and a splash pad just steps away, it was the perfect way to soak in the Disney magic. Come along as we check out our preferred view 1-bedrrom villa and everything it had to offer!
When Disneyland announced its brand new Disney Vacation Club Villas at the iconic Disneyland Hotel, I knew we had to experience it. Nestled in the heart of the resort, the new Discovery Tower combines vintage, retro vibes with modern comfort, and a whole lot of Disney touches.
We recently stayed in a one-bedroom villa for one night, and it was one of the most memorable stays we’ve ever had at Disneyland.
Whether you’re considering a stay as a DVC member or booking with cash, here’s a full breakdown of our magical experience.
One-Bedroom Villa Room Tour at Disneyland Hotel
Let’s start with the room itself! We were placed on the 8th floor in room 815 in a one-bedroom villa which comfortably sleeps up to 5 guests.  There are two different themes that you can get when booking a one-bedroom villa:  Fantasia theme or Princess and the Frog theme.
We were placed in a Princess and the Frog-themed room and we loved the beautiful wall art and the gorgeous purple and blue tones throughout the villa. It made the room feel elegant and modern.
Washer & Dryer and Linen Closet
As you enter the villa, there’s a large closet near the door. One side holds a stacked washer and dryer, while the other is stocked with extra blankets, a collapsible laundry basket, a clothes steamer, an ironing board, and a safe.
Disney provides a complimentary bottle of liquid detergent (enough for 2 loads). If you plan on doing more laundry during your stay, it’s a good idea to bring extra detergent from home.
Kitchen and Dining Room in a One Bedroom Villa at Disneyland Hotel
As you continue walking into the villa, you are greeted with a massive, bright living area that holds the kitchen, dining room and living area.
The kitchen is fully stocked with a refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, microwave, glassware and a Keurig K-Duo Single Carafe Coffee Maker.
The dining table is the perfect spot to start your morning with breakfast or wind down at the end of the day with dessert. It comfortably fit our family of five with room to spare.
Speaking of food, here is the placard that was placed on our master bed if we wanted to order breakfast in!
Living Room in a One Bedroom Villa at Disneyland Hotel
Next to the kitchen is the living room area. You’ll find a large mounted flat screen TV that greets you with your name when you arrive  Underneath the TV is a Murphy bed, that was comfortable and plush according to my 12-year old son.
Across from the TV, you’ll find a plush sofa with built-in shelving. Â The two silver handles on the wall pull down into a queen-size bed, where my two other children, 9 & 4, slept soundly through the night.
When the bed is lowered, you’re greeted by a stunning picture of the bayou complete with Louis the Alligator playing his trumpet and Ray the firefly being cast in a warm glow from his beloved Evangeline. It’s such a charming and magical touch!
Guest Bathroom in a One Bedroom Villa at Disneyland Hotel
The best part about this villa is the additional full bathroom that you get!  Generally, most Disney resorts offer only one bathroom in their 1-bedroom villas like at Disney’s Riviera Resort at Walt Disney World.
Having this bathroom was such a treat, especially if you have 5 people trying to get ready in the morning or get to bed at night.Â
The kids loved the shower and I really loved the special touch on the mirror.
Master Bedroom in a One Bedroom Villa
Right off the dining room, takes you into the master bedroom. The bed. Oh my word the bed! I had the BEST night sleep I’ve had in such a long time. I’ll need to figure out which mattress they use cause I need it lol!
On either side of the bed is two small lamps with outlets to charge your electronics.
Directly across from the bed is another large flat screen TV with plenty of counter space and 4 very spacious drawers.
Next to the counter, is a closet complete with hangers, two robes, a laundry bag, and an extra pillow with a blanket.
Master Bathroom in a One Bedroom Villa at Disneyland Hotel
Looking into the master bathroom, you see this large, bright tub, complete with towel swans. It also includes split vanities and sink areas, giving my husband and I plenty of space to spread out our toiletries and daily essentials.
On one side of the bathroom, there’s a spacious walk-in shower equipped with both a handheld wand and an overhead rain shower.
The other side houses the toilet, complete with a door so you’re not so exposed.
Balcony of a One Bedroom Villa at Disneyland Hotel
One of our favorite parts of our one-bedroom villa is the large outdoor balcony. Our view was right above the pool area with a view of both the Fantasyland Tower and the Adventure Tower to our left.
To our right, is the Frontier Tower, and in between the Adventure Tower and the Frontier Tower, we could see Disney’s Grand Californian Resort along with the Guardians of the Galaxy tower behind it. Â It was such a beautiful sight! Â
But what made it even more perfect was our view of the fireworks at night. They were shot off right in between the Fantasy Tower and the Adventure Tower, and it was loud! Â You could even see the Star Wars spires lit up beneath the fireworks. Â Absolutely magical.Â
I”ll be honest, the see-through glass balcony made us all a little nervous and more cautious when out on the balcony. Â It’s a long way down from the 8th floor!
Pools at the Villas at Disneyland Hotel
One of the main reasons we booked a stay here at the Villas at Disneyland Hotel, was for a resort day. Â We really wanted to be able to make use of the pools and waterslides that are available, and boy did we take advantage of that.
Only guests staying at the Disneyland Hotel and Villas are permitted to use the pool area. Â You’re first checked in and given a wristband to wear while in the pool area. Â The cast members checking us in were extremely helpful. Â
We asked them where would be a great place to sit to watch our 4 year old but also, to keep an eye on our older boys utilizing the larger slide. They mentioned we would be happy right behind the Yellow Monorail Slide.
Monorail Pool & Slides at the Disneyland Hotel
The Yellow Monorail slide is made more for smaller children and guests that don’t want much of a thrill, so we set up right at the bottom of that slide. Â
The Orange Monorail Waterslide has a lot more turns, goes way faster, and dumps you in a 3 1/2 foot pool. Â It was way more exhilarating for my two older boys. And yes, I did go down both just to experience it myself lol. Â Both were actually quite fun!
I could see my two boys crossing the bridge to get onto the water slide, and they’d always wave as they walked by, so it was nice to be able to see all of our children from our cozy pool chairs.
“D” and “E” Ticket Pools at the Disneyland Hotel
Aside from the Monorail Waterslides, there are plenty of other pools and spas to check out. There is the “E” Ticket Pool, which is the pool closest to the Fantasy Tower and is the largest of the pools.
In between the Monorail Pool and “E” Ticket Pool, is the “D” Ticket Pool, which is a more of a long strip of pool, perfect for walking and talking or swimming laps.
Palette Pool and Steamboat Willie Splash Pad
Just behind the Palm Breeze Bar and next to the new Discovery Tower, you’ll find the Palette Pool and Steamboat Willie Splash Pad. We loved the retro orange tones and vintage-inspired design.
It gave off 1960s/1970s vibes, especially with the style of the lounge chairs. The whole area feels fresh and fun, with a nostalgic twist that’s perfect for relaxing or letting the kids play.
Poolside Food & Drinks at the Disneyland Hotel
Right before 11:00 am, cast members went around and handed out poolside menus where you can place food and drink orders with them.
Tip: when you’re ready to order, there is a flag up near the top of your lounger (near your head) that you can flip up. This lets the cast member know you’re wanting to place an order.
We placed an order for the Charcuterie pizza and a kids salmon plate. There’s no picture of the salmon plate, but let me tell you, that salmon was cooked perfectly. My husband and I couldn’t take our forks out of my daughters plate haha!
The pizza was LARGE! It easily feed myself, my husband, 12 year old son, and 9 year old son. It was perfect! And around 1:00pm, a cast member with a basket of snacks came around, allowing you to grab a complimentary snack. Super nice!
The Broken Spell Lounge at Disneyland Hotel
Since we are talking ‘all things new’ at the Disneyland Hotel, I thought I would take a quick moment to mention the newest lounge on property, Broken Spell Lounge.
Located just off the lobby of the new Discovery Tower (right next to Goofy’s Kitchen), the Broken Spell Lounge is a charming new bar filled with storybook vibes.
The space is inspired by Disney tales where magic is broken, and it’s the perfect spot for yummy drinks and delicious bites after a long day. If you’re staying at the Villas, it’s definitely worth stopping by for a cocktail and a little extra Disney atmosphere.
They offer a wide selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, along with delicious food options. And yes, kids are welcome too! There’s even live music, which added such a fun and relaxing touch to the ambiance.
Tips for Staying at The Villas at Disneyland Hotel
Here are some tips and additional notes that will help you on your upcoming stay at The Villas at Disneyland Hotel:
Location & Access to Downtown Disney
One of the best things about staying at The Villas at Disneyland Hotel is the location. The Discovery Tower (where the Villas are located) is part of the Disneyland Hotel, just a short walk from Downtown Disney.
It took us only a few minutes to walk over and go through security, making it easy to grab a bite to eat, shop, or enjoy the atmosphere. Even if you’re not going to the Disneyland park, you’re still right in the heart of the magic.
Check-In & Parking Details
You can use either mobile check-in through the Disneyland app or check-in with a cast member at the lobby. We used the Fantasy Tower lobby as that was closest to the self-parking area, but I believe you’re able to check-in at the Discovery Tower as well.
We checked in around 10:30 am and our room wasn’t ready so we left our baggage with bell services, who delivered it to our room in the Discovery Tower later when our room was ready.
Parking is not included in your stay, unless you are booking with Disney Vacation Club points. Self-parking is $40 per night and is a quick 5-minute walk from the hotel.
Who This Stay Is Great For
The Villas are ideal for families, especially if you need a bit more space and flexibility. Our one-bedroom villa comfortably slept all five of us, and having a kitchen and laundry made everything so much easier.
It’s also perfect for non-park days or Disneyland locals who want a relaxing stay-cation with a little extra Disney charm. Whether you’re visiting with kids, extended family, or just looking to unwind in a beautifully themed space, the Villas at Disneyland Hotel make a magical home base.
