This delicious recipe is perfect for weeknight dinners since it uses minimal ingredients and is an easy meal to make.
The classic Chick-fil-A sandwich typically consists of a boneless, seasoned, and breaded chicken breast that is deep-fried until crispy. The sandwich is often served on a soft, buttered bun and topped with dill pickle slices.
The Players for ALDI Copycat Chick-fil-A Sandwich
Ingredients:
- Brioche Buns – You’ll need some toasted brioche buns or hamburger buns for this copycat Chick-fil-A sandwich.
- Chicken Fillets – The secret to this juicy chicken is using the ALDI red bag chicken that you can find in the freezer section. It is the Kirkwood brand breaded chicken breast fillets and there are usually 6 chicken patties in the bag.
- Pickles – To make this copycat sandwich, you’ll need some dill pickle chips or bread and butter pickle chips.
Tools:
Air Fryer – To make this crispy chicken sandwich, you’ll need an Air Fryer. I also use my Air Fryer to reheat my frozen Brioche French Toast and to make my easy 5-Ingredient Italian Cheese Bread recipe.
How to make ALDI Chick-fil-A Sandwiches in the Air Fryer
Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. When the air fryer is ready, add in the Kirkwood chicken breast fillets. I can easily fit 4 of the breaded chicken filets in my air fryer basket. Just be sure to not over-fill your basket. I would suggest 4 as the maximum amount.
Cook your chicken for 12 minutes, flipping the chicken breast over halfway through the cooking time.
While the chicken is cooking, toast your buns on the stovetop for 1-2 minutes, taking care not to burn your buns. You can butter your buns if you’d like but I find with brioche buns, they are buttery enough as is!
Once the chicken is done cooking, assemble your chicken sandwiches. Place some pickles on the bottom half of the bun, followed by a chicken filet, and topped with the top toasted bun. Enjoy!
To make a Chick-fil-A Deluxe Sandwich
If you’re wanting to make the famous Chick-fil-A Deluxe Chicken Sandwich, you’ll need butter leaf lettuce, sliced tomatoes, pickle chips, and cheese. You can use American, sharp cheddar, colby jack or pepper jack cheese to make it a spicy chicken sandwich.
While not necessary, I did pick up a bottle of Chick-fil-A sauce from my Target (you can also find it at Walmart or on Amazon) to use as a condiment for our air fryer chicken sandwich recipe. But feel free to use your favorite condiment toppings on these sandwiches.
The Cost of ALDI Chick-Fil-A Sandwiches in the Air Fryer
To make your own red bag chicken sandwich at home, I paid $7.99 for one bag that consists of 6 chicken breast filets. The brioche buns are $4.29 for 6 buns at my local ALDI and I purchased a jar of pickle chips for $2.25.
As of now, one Original Chicken Sandwich from Chick-fil-A is $5.89. My family ate all 6 sandwiches, which if purchased directly from Chick-Fil-A, would have been around $35.00. I paid $14.53 for all of my items, plus I have extra pickles in my jar for future sandwiches or burgers.
Also, this ALDI Copycat Chick-fil-A sandwich in the air fryer is ideal for those that don’t have a Chick-fil-A restaurant near them!

After cooking the chicken and making it into a sandwich what goes on the chicken pickles or the chicken fl a sauce
ourcrowsnest says
You can use both! I put the sauce on the bun and the pickles on top of the chicken, but you can leave off whatever you don’t like. Hope this helps! 😀
