The Best BBQ Bacon Baked Beans Recipe

- 4 28-oz cans pork and beans, drained well
- 1 1/4 cups bbq sauce
- 3/4 cups dark brown sugar
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp yellow mustard
- 1 tsp liquid smoke
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 5 slices of bacon, uncooked and diced
Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and spray a 13"x9" baking dish with non stick cooking spray.
Drain off the top layer of the liquid from the beans and pour into your prepared baking dish.
To the beans, add the BBQ sauce, dark brown sugar, maple syrup, apple cider vinegar. Worcestershire sauce, yellow mustard, liquid smoke, and seasonings to the baking dish and mix well.
Cut your bacon into small bite-sized pieces and sprinkle the bacon evenly over the top of the beans.
Bake the beans for 50 minutes, uncovered. When the beans are done, turn the oven to 'Broil' and broil for 5 minutes to get the bacon nice and crispy. Enjoy!
To make ahead , prepare the beans as written up until the baking part. Cover the beans with aluminum foil and refrigerate for up to 24 hours. When it's time to cook, pull the beans out of the fridge and allow them to sit on the counter for 30 minutes before placing them in the oven. Bake as directed.
To store cooled beans, place into an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
Reheating Instructions:
- Microwave: Heat individual portions in a microwave-safe dish in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until hot.
- Oven: Place beans in a baking dish, cover with foil, and reheat at 350°F for 15-20 minutes or until heated through.
- Stovetop: Heat in a saucepan over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until warmed through.
