- 1/2 cup butter (1 stick), melted
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
- zest of 1 lemon
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups fresh berries, rinsed and dried blackberries, boysenberries, blueberries
- 1 tbsp coarse sugar or white sparkling sugar optional
Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray a 9-inch pie dish with cooking spray or use butter residue from butter wrapper.
Melt butter in microwave safe bowl (use a large enough bowl so you can add the rest of the ingredients).
To the melted butter, add the rest of the ingredients, except for berries.
Pour batter into greased baking dish. Top the batter evenly with berries.
Optional: Sprinkle tops of berries with coarse sugar or white sparkling sugar.
Bake for 45 minutes. Enjoy!
