Place chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker. Next, add in the cream of mushroom soup, cream cheese, Italian dressing mix packet, and sour cream.
Cook on low for 6-8 hours if using fresh chicken breasts. Cook on low for 10 hours if using frozen chicken breasts.
Shred the chicken and serve over pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes. Enjoy!
If Adding Fresh Mushrooms:
About 30 minutes before cooking time is up, to a skillet, add butter, sliced mushrooms, thyme, salt, and pepper and saute for 5 minutes. Add to slow cooker and continue cooking until time is up.
