Homemade One Pot Hamburger Helper Recipe

This One Pot Hamburger Helper is cheesy, delicious, and made with wholesome ingredients, unlike the boxed stuff.  This quick dinner is the best recipe for the whole family!

Using simple and budget friendly ingredients, you can recreate the classic boxed Hamburger Helper in your own kitchen.

Saute onions and garlic in olive oil. Next, brown your ground beef and drain off some of the fat.

Add in all of your seasonings to the ground beef mixture in your skillet, and stir well.

Next, add in your beef broth to the skillet. You can also use chicken broth or vegetable broth if you prefer.

To the broth, add in your milk.  I like to warm my milk in the microwave for 1 minute before adding.

Next, add in your dried pasta.  I'm using egg noodles to switch it up, but feel free to use elbow macaroni for this recipe!

Give the mixture a good stir and allow the mixture to come up to a simmer, before lowering the heat and covering with a lid.

Be sure to occasionally stir your pasta so that it won't stick to the bottom of the pan. It should take about 10 minutes to cook.

Once the noodles are al dente, add in your grated cheddar cheese to the skillet and stir well until the cheese has melted.

Top off with additional cheese and freshly chopped parsley if desired and serve!
