Using day-old French bread, cut your bread into thick slices and allow them to 'dry' out for about 30 minutes or so.

Whisk together butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup to create the silky creme brulee sauce.

Pour your creme brulee sauce into the bottom of a greased baking dish.  To make clean-up easier, use a foil pan!

In a shallow pie pan or large bowl, whisk together the custard ingredients.  This will give a delicious, bread pudding type texture!

Taking one slice of bread at a time, begin to dunk your bread slices into the custard mixture.

Do this to the remaining 7 slices of bread and place them into the creme brulee sauce in your baking dish.

Pour the remaining custard over the tops and sides of your French bread slices in the baking dish.

The next morning, pull the French toast casserole from the fridge and allow it to sit for 30 minutes while the oven preheats.

Bake in a 350 degree oven for 15 minutes, flip the bread slices, and bake for an additional 20 minutes. Broil the tops for 5 minutes to get a nice caramalization.
